A few weeks ago we told the story of how we've documented Fundo La Pampita from above over the last decade — from the hillside with an ordinary camera, to the drone we just added this year. That entry ended with a promise: to keep documenting the Fundo season after season. Between August 22 and 24 we did our first real flights with the new equipment, and the difference shows immediately.
August 22-23 · First flights

The method is simple: we raise the drone from a fixed point until the full panorama of the place is revealed, and once up high we fly it forward at a constant speed to sweep across the scene. It's the same curiosity as always — seeing the Fundo the way you can't from the ground — but now with a sharpness we didn't have before: every windbreak corridor, every internal road, the river in the distance on the way to Manihuales, all clearly visible.

We did the first morning flights with frost still on the grass — winter in Aysén doesn't leave overnight. From above you see something that's hard to appreciate on the ground: how the agroforestry system is actually organized, the silage bales stored for winter, the sheds, and the rows of young trees we keep planting every season.
An angle we didn't have: the apiaries

One of our favorite shots was this one, directly over the apiaries our father has kept privately for decades. We had never seen them like this, lined up neatly from the air. As we always say: beekeeping isn't a service we offer, but visiting the apiaries up close can be part of an experience at the Fundo.
